Ubuntu Portugal, or according with the oficial nomenclature Ubuntu-pt, is the Local Community (LoCo for short) officially recognized by the Ubuntu Comminity as the official Ubuntu LoCo for Portugal. It’s also recognized as the official UBports managment for the Portuguese Language UBports community.

Ubuntu-pt organizes in Portugal activities to promote Ubuntu and its goals, which includes promoting Ubuntu and its official flavours and the UBports community.

UBports is the community and the foundation that suports the community, that develops and maintains Ubuntu Touch, which is Ubuntu for smartphones and tablets, Lomiri, the convergent graphical user interface and desktop environment that automatically adapts to become native to different types os devices, and steers the ecossystem around them.

Ubuntu-pt organizes regular activities such as:

• social meetups,
• technical meetups,
• activities with the Free Software Community in Portugal,
• organize and dinamize tecnical conferences

Centro Linux, is one of the most important iniciatives managed and promoted by Ubuntu-pt, wich also exists thanks to the cooperation of MILL, which hosts the iniciative events in Lisbon. Centro Linux, has the goal to promote knowledge sharing based on practice, about GNU/Linux, Free Software/Open Source Software, and other things promoted by movements with compatabile and similar ideals and ethics, by creating participation on a common time and space, to build and streghten personal rellationships and a stronger community.
